Those who know us understand that sustainability is a massively important issue to us. It’s not an eye-catching badge that we wear to push a message, it’s a way in which we’ve set our business up and a way in which we run it.
With that in mind, we decided to take the next logical step, go all out, and try to secure the prestigious B Corp certification. The rigorous journey has now begun.
Now, you might be wondering, what’s a B-Corp? Think of it as the gold standard for businesses that balance purpose and profit. It’s a thorough verification process that measures a company’s social and environmental performance. It’s a genuine badge of honour recognised globally but obtaining it is one thing, keeping it is another because it can be lost as well.
We’re currently in the thick of the verification process with assessors to ensure we meet the highest standards. We can assure you it’s no walk in the park (and neither should it be), but we believe it’s worth every step. Achieving B-Corp certification means that we’re not just talking the talk but walking the walk when it comes to being a force for good.
But wait, there’s more… If (when!) we get this certification, we’ll be joining forces with our partners, Altitude Design, to become the only Plymouth-based B-Corp businesses. That’s right, together we’ll be flying the B-Corp flag high for our city.
