The Challenge

Thoughtful Media Group is a global multi­channel network (MCN) operating across YouTube and other digital media platforms. The Hollywood-headquartered entertainment company creates, maintains and aggregates online video channels that have unique, highly engaged and engageable audiences, helping the world’s leading brands effectively reach these viewers. The challenge? To create an identity that cleverly distilled the businesses innovative offer.

Our new Thoughtful identity is something rare and exciting, and articulates beautifully in form our capacity to become a game-changing company. The identity is already working hard across the globe and has become very much associated with our purpose.

The Solution

Working in partnership with Thoughtful’s team, Dave created a flexible identity and visual language that moves to clarify the brands offer. It also amplifies the brand’s former identity with an evolution that introduces Thoughtful to an ever expanding global audience. The new identity marries contemporary fonts with vivid colour palettes and powerful graphic assets to create a memorable brand. We then created a comprehensive set of guidelines and rolled the identity through to a number of key brand touch-points ready for launch.


Thoughtful Media Group has gone from strength to strength and the figures are impressive. Topping over 800 million views per month by October 2015, views in the U.S. alone grew 59% year-on-year, with high growth also coming from the new markets such as Southeast Asia, Africa and South America. In China, meanwhile, Thoughtful broke the 200 million views milestone in 2015. The network is on course to deliver over 6 billion video views in 2015.
